Guidelines:
- 2D and 3D work are welcome.
- For 2D work, the maximum size is 40" wide by 30" tall.
- For 3D work, the piece must not be smaller than a softball, and no bigger than a watermelon. We simply cannot accommodate anything beyond these sizes.
- Please bring no more than 25 pieces of artwork to your session. However, some may not work well for showing on TV (due to colors/lines/etc.), so your showcase might range from 20-25 pieces. We recommend that you do not tell individual students (before your session) that their work will be on TV, just in case there is a technical reason we can’t put their work in the show.
- Digital photographs of artwork are accepted on a case-by-case basis.
- Artwork cannot have a child’s full name printed in the middle of the image. It is acceptable if the name is along a side or in a corner because we can most likely crop that out.
- Please be aware that pencil drawings can have a hard time showing up on TV. We’re not saying they won’t work, but please understand that light, thin lines do not reproduce well on television.
- Laminated and framed work behind glass will work, just as long as it fits in the size requirements above.
What to expect for your session:
- A week or two before your session, we will contact you (most likely via email) confirming your session time. We can answer any last minute questions you may have.
- We moved! We are now located on the 1st floor of the Walnut St. School, downtown, at 901 Walnut St. If you don’t know how to find us, please visit our website and select “Contact Us.”
- Plan on spending about 30 minutes with us while we photograph your students’ work.
- We use a “First Name, Last Initial” identification for artwork on screen. Please have each piece easily identifiable (by list, sticky note, whatever) so that it’s quick and easy for us to put names with the art.
- We’ll remind you of the specific airdates during your session, but as a general rule, your showcase will run on Red Apple TV from Monday morning until the following Monday morning. It will air approximately 2-3 times per hour, 24 hours a day.
- It will also appear on the front page of our website for that entire week. After that week, you will still be able to access the showcase online. Simply click the “Learn More and Watch Past Gallery 12’s” link, and that will take you to the list of ALL Gallery 12 showcases (including previous years!)
- We have created a sheet we will send with you after your Gallery that has a reminder note on one side you may create copies of and send with your students so parents know when they can watch, and also how to find it online! The other side is a copy of our order form for you to distribute as well.
- DVD or VHS copies are available to anyone who wants one. The copies are $10 each, and an order form can be found on our website by using the “Order A Program” link on the left.
- Again this year, each teacher will receive a DVD copy of each of their Gallery 12s at no cost. You will also receive a CD with high resolution jpegs of your students' work that are of print quality, for publishing in newsletters, portfolios, etc.
