A look back at Classic Red Apple TV stories. Pulled from the archives, these stories haven't seen the light of day in many years. They are a fun way to look back at some of the best of Red Apple TV. Check them out! |
FEATURES
A little longer than newsbriefs, Feature stories give us a chance to look a little deeper into an event or activity. If a subject needs a little more time than we could dedicate to it in a newsbrief, we'll make it a feature story. Features usually last anywhere from 5-10 minutes.

NEWSBRIEFS
Snippets about what's happenning in the Des Moines Public Schools. Many suggestions for the things we cover in newsbriefs come from parents, teachers or simply other Red Apple TV viewers who use the form on our website. Newsbrief segments usually consist of 2-4 stories and are 3-7 minutes long.
|
The Spotlight features students, teachers or programs in the Des Moines Schools in a more casual way than our Features. While Features are written so the anchor is telling the story, Spotlights are written and shot so the interviewees are telling the story, with no anchor to help pull the story along. See all previous Spotlights here.

School Board Meetings are broadcast
on Tuesday (live if there is a meeting in session), Thursday and Sunday at 6:00pm.
The school board usually meets the first and third Tuesdays of the month. These meetings are shown live on Red Apple TV .
See the school
board website for exact meeting dates. This meeting is then replayed the following Thursday and Sunday, and follows that same pattern until the next live Tuesday meeting. In other words, there is always a board meeting being shown on Red Apple TV Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays at 6:00p.

SnapShots features photos taken from district events. Many of the photos in these segments are taken by the official district photographer, however, if you have 40-50 images of your event, you're welcome to submit them to us for a SnapShots segment.
